Mo Salah scores Hat trick Refuses Man of the Match Award  Dec. 08, 2018 Mohamed Salah’s hat-trick helped Liverpool equal their club-record run of 17 unbeaten Premier League matches with a 4-0 win at Bournemouth. Kelvin Hart steps down from hosting 2019 Oscars ceremony

Kelvin Hart has announced he is stepping down as host of next year’s Oscars ceremony following series of over perceived homophobic comments and tweets from him. On Friday the comedian posted an apology to the LGBTQ community on Twitter for his past “insensitive words” and confirmed he would not host the show,  so as not to be a “distraction” . “I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscars,” wrote Hart, who as well as his stand-up work is the star of films like Ride Along and Jumanji. Just hours earlier, Kelvin Hart, was in Australia, posted a video to Instagram saying he had received a call from the Academy telling him to apologise or he would be removed as host. “I’m sorry that I hurt people. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love and appreciation to the Academy. See the state in Nigeria that has the least minimum wage

Ibrahim Khaleel,National President Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has revealed that a state in Nigeria pays N6,000 as minimum wage today. He made the revelation in Abuja ahead of the union's 40th anniversary.  Local government workers in Zamfara state are the worst paid in Nigeria as they are still earning N6,000 (less than $20) a month as minimum wage, very far from the N18,000 set as the bench mark nationally Khaleel said Governor Abdulaziz Yari’s non-compliance with the N18,000 minimum wage, was the real reason he is obstructing the actualisation of the proposed N30,000 minimum wage. Senate president ;Bukola Saraki Senate President Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Sunday, expressed sadness over the death of the founder of the Oodua Peoples Congress, OPC, Dr Frederick Fasehun. Saraki, in a statement by his Special Adviser, Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, in Abuja, described the late Fasehun as a patriotic Nigerian who served his country meritoriously during his lifetime. APC Gboyega Oyetola has been sworn in as the new governor of osun state

BREAKING: APC’s Gboyega Oyetola sworn-in as new Osun Governor The winner of the recent governorship election in Osun State and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Gboyega Oyetola has been inaugurated as Governor of the state. Oyetola officially took over from his predecessor, Rauf Aregbesola, in Osogbo, the state capital, after he was sworn-in by the Chief Judge of the state on Tuesday. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared Oyetola winner of the governorship election in state. The INEC Returning Officer in the state, Prof. Joseph Adeola Afuwape had announced that Oyetola garnered 255,505 votes to defeat his main rival, Senator Ademola Adeleke of the PDP, who polled 255,023 votes. The swearing-in event had in attendance: governors from the South-West, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, who represented President Muhammadu Buhari, the Ooni of Ife, among others.

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Amb. Kabiru Bala as Nigeria’s new High Commissioner to South Africa, with concurrent accreditation to Swaziland and Lesotho. A statement by Ms Sarah Sanda, the Special Assistant on Media to the Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, said this on Monday in Abuja. Sanda stated that the minister presented letter of credence to the new ambassador on Monday in Abuja. She added that before his appointment, Bala was Deputy High Commissioner to the UK. A career diplomat, Amb. Bala joined the Foreign Service in 1999 and had at different times served in Brasilia, Sudan, The Gambia, Netherlands and Thailand. He also served in the State House Office of the Chief of Staff to the President, as well as State House Protocol. Bala will replace Ahmed Ibeto, the former Ambassador, who resigned his appointment in July to join the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. Source: daily post

Imsu undergraduate poison's herself after stabbing boyfriend

An undergraduate of Imo State University, Jennifer Agomuo, has taken her own life after a fight with her boyfriend, who was simply identified as Johnson. The incident which occurred in one of the hostels within the Aladinma Alliance area of the school on Wednesday night threw the university community into mourning, our correspondent learnt. Our correspondent gathered that the 21-year-old was a third-year student of the department of computer science of the university. A source in the school told our correspondent that the female undergraduate poisoned herself after stabbing her boyfriend over an undisclosed issue. The source said “A student of our school has taken her own life. She was studying computer science and was supposed to graduate in 2019. She was in the third year.” “She poisoned herself after stabbing her boyfriend.” Sources within the hostel said that the deceased had thought that she had killed her boyfriend and out of fear she committed suicide.
